Xtra chZ~A "Slice" Above, Concord NH

                                                          sign

There's a new place in town. Xtra chZ opened the first week in August at the corner of Rt.106 and Pembroke Road.

Now.....we have a lot of Pizza establishments in town so I asked the owner/operator, Nick Makris, what about his place makes him competitive? Nick didn't even hesitate in his answer "we cater to the whole family, not just the guys on lunch break" He has also told his help that no one is to leave "unhappy"....there's no skimping!

menu They have more than 28 Specialty Pizzas. They also have an extensive menu of Specialty Salads! This is more than your standard Pizza  Place. There are full American Dinners Plates and even Desserts!(I can attest to the White Chocolate RaspberrymenuTruffle....yum)

The Makris Family is not new to the area! Back in the '80's they were known as Zoeys and were at the corner of Main St. and Bridge St. They moved to Manchester in the early '90's and also expanded into Deerfield!

Nick

Nick Makris

I asked Nick  about what advertising he was relying on. He is strictly word of mouth! I can understand why....my son and his friends tried it once and now go nowhere else! Their favorite....Chicken, Bacon and Broccoli Alfredo! Fabulous!!

At this time  Xtra ChZ is strictly Free Delivery and Take Out.But keep your eyes open...they have preliminary approval from the city to expand to the space next door and are planning on having 40 seats. This will be a great place to bring the family for an in-expensive family night out!

Meanwhile give them a try...you'll be glad you did!

hi Joan,

WoW, Xtra Chz looks like a great place to go.....they have a very extensive menu from the looks of it. Good thing I'm cooking my dinner while reading this as you've just boosted my appetite quite a few notches...

Okay -- now that's the place we will have to meet for lunch before our next public policy meeting!  I am getting hungry just looking at those pictures and I can smell the extra cheeze.

Joan, it took me SEVEN MONTHS to locate the right delivery/take out place when we moved here. Thank goodness that new residents in your area won't be stuck with trial and error when American Idol starts, and dinner MUST be delivered! Can I steal this for a blog?? I'm very serious!!!

Hi Joni!  Where have you been hiding???

Why do all the food related posts on A|R seem to involve Pizza, Desserts or other fattening food?  Chicken Bacon Broccoli Alfredo, huh?  Well at least the broccoli is healthy... right?

Hi Joan, You did a really nice job for Nick here and I surely hope he gets lots of extra business. And that he lets you put your brochures in his place. " Call Joan for the Xtra Professional Service in Buying or Selling your home". "The Pizza's on me". What do you  think?

PS, I finally got that "Freindship Ball" post out.

Yum! Eggplant Parmigiana is my favorite but a good calzone is a close second! White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle, sounds sinfully delicious!

Joan:  Just looking at this... the menu, the food write-ups... gets me very, very hungry.  But... Luckily... tonight I had dinner at Brio... a nice Italian restaurant.  I had their special baked Lasagna... and it was probably the best I have ever had.  Yum !  But for tomorrow... I wish I had one of these places nearby to try out.  Thanks for sharing.

Rich:  You want some Extra Cheese on that White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle ???  LOL.  I think I will pass on the extra cheese... just pass me the dessert please.

Now that looks and sounds like my kind of pizza place. But you misspelled cheese, Joan! It's ChZ. Xtra ChZ. The spelling indicates that someone does a lot of texting. LOL

Jo...I can attest to the fact that it's really ouitstanding!

Hi Ken...the prices are really reasonable and the portions are very generous!

Joan...it isn't far and will be a perfect place to meet once the tables are in!

Laurie...I know exactly what you mean. We've tried them all...Chinese too!

Steve....I don't know how the time gets away from me like it does? I think we talk and think about food a lot cause we need to soothe, self medicate, reward ????? ourselves!

Hi William....cute idea! I have to go over and check out your post!

Rich....that truffle was to die for. It was so rich I had to split it up over two nights!

Karen Anne....Lazagna is one of my favorites too! But, I sure do appreciate  a good place that delivers.

Thanks so much for the heads up Russel...I have since corrected it!

Elizabeth...maybe I should be writing food reviews?

Hi Carole....he has preliminary approval I don't know when he expects the final!!

Karen Anne - My arteries may clog from the cheese but if the truffle is as rich and tasty as Joan says, I will be on a chocolate induced endorphin high to keep me going. I think we might need some visual help here...
