Autumn, Fall, Foliage Season.....whatever you wish to call it....Mother Nature cloaks herself in glorious color trimmed with deep blue skies and saturated with the smell of crisp fallen leaves! It is her way of softening the Winter chill to come.
This year has been especially glorious! the colors are brilliant and the leaves seem to be staying on the trees longer so we can see the full effect!
Today we took our annual Fall drive. Usually we go to the notches or an area we have not yet traveled, but this year we stayed close to home to save a little gas!

The show started even as I left my Driveway! I believe Merrimack Conty may be at peak!

We stopped to get this view! There was a man sitting in a rocker on his porch. We asked if we could take a shot? He said with the new View Tax....it would be $20 bucks!

Spotted a Pumpkin Patch! You could pick your own!
You're A Good Man Charlie Brown!
Off to Pittsfield for some Perfect Reflections!
I call this "Swimming In Watercolor Water"
As Far As The Eye Can See

Hi Joni... Your pictures are absolutely gorgeous! I am very jealous. It's still in the 80's here in "Big D". Thanks for sharing a bit of autumn with me! :)
Steve...this is the prettiest Fall I can remember in ages....it was a perfect day! This is really the time of year you should visit!
Hi Joan, I used to live in Boston and we would drive up to NH to see the foliage and it was flooded with visitors from all over the World. How was this year? (The Visitors)
Wow Joan, that is some very beautiful country over there. All of the colors really stand out. Thanks, Keith
Joan,
New Hampshire looks to be a beautiful place to live. Many people in pennsylvania also reported vacationing close to home this year. You did a wonderful job with your pictures to accurately depict the current look of your state. I look forward to seeing more of your pictures in the future. Keep up the good work!
Oh Joan! That was refreshing!!! We don't get much color down here in Florida except green & brown so to see those fall colors was truly AWESOME! Thanks!!!
Joan your pictures are beautiful. Thankfully we got enough rain here that we should have a great showing of colors. Ours are not yet at peak we probably have a couple more weeks before peak.
Joni - there is nothing, I repeat NOTHING, like a New England fall.
Many areas are beautiful this time of year, but ...
Thanks for making me homesick again - you always do that to me!
Joan,
This is the only season I miss from living in the north. I always enjoyed those crisp mornings that october would bring.
Gorgeous pictures. The leaves are just starting to turn here in Atlanta.
Joan:
What lovely photos...great post...
Joan, what gorgeous photos- your area has got to be at the top of the list of "fall's most beautiful places"!
Good Morning Joan! The pictures you have taken are breathtaking. This is one of my favorite seasons and to see that beautiful color painted all over your blog just brings a smile to my face. Have a wonderful day!
I love, love, LOVE New Hampshire. Thanks for the pretty pics. We were there when our kids were babies. I would love to take them there now that they are old enough to appreciate the beauty and charm.
Thank You Joan. I love the way the colors of the trees changed the appearance of the color of the water. The view tax was very funny. Hope our season in Rhode Island turns out to be just a beautiful. We aren't exactly there yet I hope it doesn't miss us.
I really love the fall. There is nothing like it for color. It is so pretty to look at.
Hi Joan,
Those photos are beautiful, the colors are so vibrant this year. And I love the smell of fall! :)
Great pictures, I love the fall scenery. Our leaves are just starting to change here in PA.
Joan,
You take the most incredible pictures I've ever seen on any blog here at AR....absolutely breathtaking.
Thank you for the wonderful fall colour tour....

Hi Jim....Hope it cheered you up :0)
Fall is so distinctive Suzanne...also the sounds of crackling leaves when you walk!
Carol...I would have thought you were ahead of us! So your Winter must be shorter because your Spring is sooner than ours too!

Hi Julie...seeing your name brings a smile to mine! :0)
Wow Joan those are great photos. I love the fall foliage. It's my favorite time of year.
Joan, great pictures. I love NH and Maine. Great places for fall leaves watching.
I have been there in the fall and it is glorious! I think it is beautiful other than the winter unless you have snow...and then it is beautiful even then!
These are fantastic pictures! I love the goose in the watercolor. Reflections in water are some of my favorite images. I am planning to go for a drive in the mountains this weekend to take in fall's beautiful display.
That really makes me feel great....as it will be 90 here in Austin. Maybe next month we will see a fall. Beautiful pictures. Leaves do not turn colors here....but we also don't know how to shovel snow.
Cheers..........
Great pictures, wish we had Falls like that. But we do have the ocean and the sand.
You brought back so many memories of the years I lived in Boston. Every Fall, we would head north to look at all the beautiful foliage! Thanks for sharing.
I love this time of year! Your pictures are beautiful and the descriptions really make your ares sound so amazing! Great job!
your photos are great...we just saw some great fall trees with beautiful colors around Lake Minnetonka.
It has one of the largest shorelines around. I recall doing a mural project in one of the homes we drove by.
No longer doing murals, have been concentrating on House portraits, the holiday season is coming up and this
is the time to place an order. Check out www.joeldavidabramson.com and feel free to spread the word this autumn season.
OH THE COLORS!!! I love Fall. I love everything about it. I love the weather...the brisk air...but most of all, I love the colors! Thank you for this post! GBU!
Gorgeous, gorgeous! My favorite is the goose. Outstanding photography.
Hi Joan, As a Michigan transplant the thing I miss the most is the Fall season. Spoke with some family today and they said the foliage is spectacular !
Oh Joan,
What beautiful pictures. I was born in Massachusetts - my mother was born in Vermont and later moved to NH. We spent many weekends when I was a child driving through the countryside just looking at the scenery. I miss it so much. It is hard to explain to people how the light filters through the suger maples and how they look on a bright fall day when the wind is blowing.
We have decent fall colors here in the Birmingham Alabama area (in years where there has been plenty of rain) but it is NOTHING like New England.
Enjoy your colors.
Hey Joan...this should be a good week down your way!
Me too Adriana!
Huiting...don't forget Vermont!
Jean....to me Winter is beautiful for about1 month...then I'm ready for it to be over!!
Hi Rich....the goose is my favorite too. I thin I'm going to make some notecards with it!
Tim....you had to rub it in about the snow!
Hello Charles. I love Forida! I would love to have a winter getaway...
Heather ...our two areas are so different. I don't think there could be a bigger contrast!
Thanks Terrie,,,my Brother and Sister -in-Lawwere dealers in Reno for years!
Nice to meet you joel....glad you enjoyed!
Thanks Elaine..it's such fun to do!
Bill...I bet they visit in the Winter!
Toni...you sound a bit nostalgic...time for a visit?
Beautiful we don't get to see these colors in Florida. Thanks for sharing.
Joni,
Wow and double wow! What incredible photos. Thank you for a fabulous tour of New Hampshire in all it's glorious Fall beauty.
Donald....remember this when we're in the dead of Winter....and send some sun and warmth our way!
Thanks Cynthia....you really have to come this way some day (not in the winter though)
Hi Joan, the photography is gorgeous and this post really deserves to be featured . Great Job.
Ps, Joan, I had been hoping to get back East this year but business is picking up, normally when it slows down, so I won't make it back to see these magical colors. Your photos have to replace the actual. and Do a great job doing that!
William...glad I could fill a void! If you do get out this way....you will call? Right?
Lovely pictures Joan. Jay and I took a road trip last weekend and the colors were just fantastic.
It was so beautiful Monika...I can't remember the last Fall that was this vibrant!
Joni, What a beautiful tour! Priceless. Thanks for giving me a taste of autumn in New England! ( I must admit I'm a little jealous... But come Decemeber won't be).. LOL!
hugs,
Ginger
Well now I don't have to go see you and the fall colors. Or is everything better in person? LOL
Hi Ginger....hummmm seems to me that was your response last year! Maybe you should plan a short trip during foliage? It was just perfect this year! I'snot too cold and you'd be home before it was! The best of both worlds...
Russel....the pictures don't do it justice! Much better in person!
Joan,
Thank you for the picture tour of your lovely area in the fall! I would love to visit the fall color there someday!
Caren
Well we would love to have you Caren! The Fall is oe of the best times to visit along with all the beautiful foliage it's State Fair time!
Joan, Enjoyed the tour of your New Hampshire fall. We've also had a very beautiful fall with the mose vibrant and bright colors.
Hello again Gary! This was one of the nicest seasons we've had in ages...even now as the trees are drying the colors are special! I don't envy you your Winters!!
