Nonni's Italian Eatery~Concord, NH

sign There's a new place in town!just like momma's

Nonni's Italian Eatery-"Food Just Like Momma Used To Make"- recently opened in the Holiday Inn, Main Street Concord New Hampshire!

My son took us out to a "belated" Mother's Day dinner. I got to choose, so I wanted to try Nonni's...Italian food is at the top of my preferred list!

It was a Sunday evening so it was not very crowded...which was fine with me because I wanted to take a few pictures but didn't want to disturb people. We were seated by our waitress Katelyn who asked if we had been there before and when we said no she told us a bit about the menu. Katelyn I did ask if it would be OK if I took some pictures for my Active Rain Blog and the Manager, Jennifer, was very gracious and said yes.

Our Chefs were Mikey and Robin chefs

The menu is very varied with something for every taste...including Brick Oven Pizza!pizza We started with a shared appetizer of garlic knots with oil dipping sauce...they were delicious! My son had Fettuchini Alfredo with Chicken and Broccoli, I had Lazagna (something I only get when I go out)...it was excellant! My husband had Chicken Marsala. dinner He said it was the best he has had since Boston's North End!

It was a delightful dinner and I know we will visit Nonni's again.

If you are in Concord be sure to try Nonni's Italian Eatery at the Holiday Inn,172 Main Street Concord NH (224-0400)

Hi Joan,

It sounds and looks like you had a wonderful dinner and were treated with great service....I love Italian too, especially anything with sundried tomatoes, roasted peppers and black olives.

A total veg-head! No meat since the mid nineties; actually waited until after college to become a vegetarian! I think it usually works the other way around! Perhaps because I chose to be a vegetarian without any peer pressure, I still am. Only animal products I eat are eggs and dairy! And to think I was raised on meat three times a day!

Joan,

Here is my today's blog on my recipe

Steve

Italian Eatery request for recipes for Seafood Spaghetti.

I was fortunate in 2004  to visit Italy for the first time with my wife.  What can you say to be in Italy is to love Italy. One place that I stayed was on the coast for a week called Vernazza in the Cinque Terre coast.  It was a small fishing village that on the foot hills they grew grapes and olives. There was also lots of fresh produce. One night we went out to dinner to an out door restaurant over looking the bay. I order seafood spaghetti. Everything was fresh including the white wine grown among the rolling hills. Do you remember the movies with Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan in the Restaurant and the lady next to them said I will have what they are having.  Well it was a kind of reaction with my seafood dinner that Meg was faking.

So need less to say I feel in love with Italian cooking.  First you need some Andre Bocelli music to set the mood. Then pour your self a little Pino and your ready. Here is what you will need.

  1. Fresh Basil.
  2. Sun Dried Tomatoes
  3. Garlic
  4. onions
  5. Fresh Tomatoes
  6. Shitake mushrooms
  7. zucchini squash
  8. small clams
  9. shrimp
  10. Pinch of red pepper flakes
  11. ½ cup dry white wine.
  12. pinch of pepper

Sauté the above in olive oil start with the shrimp and clams then add the rest of the ingredients.

I like to use Artichoke Spaghetti noodles.

So mix the sauté ingredients with noodles and you are good to go.  I hope you like it is a easy crowd pleaser.

Bon Appétit,

Stefano

Joan - we were thinking of taking the better part of one day and go exploring in the Concord area.  My husband has never been up there and he has no idea what the area is like.  Not to mention I'm anxious to see how much it's grown!  I'll be calling you REAL soon.  :)

Joan, Alfredo is one of my absolute favorite things to eat and I'm a nut for Italian food.  Thanks so much for sharing.  I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to comment here yet, but I'm featuring this post along with Mike's Mexican Restaurant Profile to put some fresh threads up top. ;)
