MIZ MAVEN

There have been several Posts on here lately about aging, and for those of you who have yet to enter that "era" there is a secret you should know. For many of us....the image in our heads is not the image that you see.
I see myself as the image above...mysterious,living on the edge, courting danger combined with glamour and confidence. A woman adored and admired, somwhat aloof and in total control!
For weeks I have been catching snatches of a song that made me stop in my tracks! I didn't know the name and didn't recognize the artist....but I loved the song! This morning I caught it on TV!
When I hear this I picture myself entering a room and being surrounded by my admirers...they are all..."Beggin Me For Mercy"
I Love This Song

"I love what I do, and it shows in how I do it"

Age is only a number. We are only as old as we feel! I think it is wonderful you see yourself as mysterious, living on the edge, glamorous and confident - YOU GO GIRL!
Pam...I had a blast doing this...and then I danced around the living room with the music blaring!
Good for you. Need to think how I see me. So far not sure, but for whatever reason I do not recognize myself in the mirror
Jon...think of a song that you really respond to...and the picture you get from the song is probably you
Good Post! I don't think I've ever heard this song before.
Lindsay..Thanks! It was driving me crazy hearing bits and pieces till this AM. She is from England and I think a new artist!
Joan: I love the song, too. And I am sure that when you walk into the room... Mercy isn't the only thing they will be begging you for ! You go, girl !
Great job! I see a strong resemblance!
Hi Joni,
A neat song, never heard it. You sound just like my Mom!
Joan, it's so true- I have to suggest that as long as we keep the "diva" alive, and believe it ourselves, little else matters! :)
Karen...the reason it appeals to me is probably because it's very Mowtown..and I'm a Mowtown kind of girl! Good to see you!
Barabara..so it wasn't just me! LOL...just change the hair!
Carole...this is a crank up the radio(or computer) type of song!
Hi Cynthia...don't worry you'll get there too! But just like Carole said...we are getting better!
Laurie...don't forget about draping the mirrors! Do you think if we coated the mirrors with vaseline we'd gat that "gauzey" look?
that is what dreams are made of. who we believe we are then we are and I do not look back. Great blog.
Thanks Susan...No looking back, learn from mistakes but don't look back.I agree 100%
Ah, yes, a sober replacement for Amy Winehouse. The Brits are putting out some great artists these days!
Jesse...even I have heard of her (Amy). Her reputation preceeds her. LOL I lover the timbre of Duffys voice...it's unusual!
Joan, you don't look any different to me in those 2 pictures!
BLRGuy
Why thank you BLR guy...I can also see the resemblance! Thanks for noticing!!
Oh, Joan- oops- is that what vaseline is for this age? DELETE.
Great theme song entry. Now that rocks the house and it showcases a refined sense of humor. Good luck. Got my vote...sadly, I have no vote.
Laurie...you wrote it ...you own it!
Andrew...I'm just an 60's rocker at heart! And thank you for the vote!
I love it! Great perception - if you think it, you will feel it!
Sandra...it really is ironic that as we become more confident in who we are....our visage becomes more vulnerable! Because it really is true..as we get older we are definately more mentally developed and experienced!
What a sexy kitty your are! Your video is cool! Reminds me of Amy Winehouse of course, but also of Nancy Sinatra and the Divine Miss M!
Rich...the Divine Miss M is my absolute favorite!
Joan- That was fun! I love that song too.
OMG! How did I miss this? LOL I love the song - kind of sassy for us "diamond dolls" of that special era. :) I don't know about you, but I'm enjoying every minute of every year. I have earned them all! And now I can get discounts! Yahhoooo
Thanks Matt...glad I can still be fun even at this age! Thanks for stopping by!
Carol-Yup..the discounts aren't bad! You liked the song for the same reason I did...it's very '60's. Gets the toes tapping!
That's quite a picture..I think I'll go take a nice cold shower..
You go girl! How you feel and live shows the true spirit of yourself. ; )
You got me hooked. I love this song! Downloading to idpod!!!
Awww Eric...you know how to flatter an old gal!
Christina...Isn't it the best!! I'm going to have to check out her CD
