Granite State~Solid ...In More Ways Than One

One of the many on line periodicals I subscribe to is New Hampshire Business Review. It uses all area sources  and features the more important happenings throughout the State.

As I skimmed down the headlines I was becoming less inclined to click on any as the list was reflective of the generally accepted State of Mind

*An article about how the University System has been infected by a Bond Fallout

tear out hair                    *How they expect us to see $3.50 a gallon by Memorial Day

*How the State is experiencing serious Budget Cuts

*Oh...and a data breach at a Hannaford Super-Market (a local chain) that jeopardized the charge and debit card accounts of thousands!

Fortunately the next entry was a huge YES !!!            yes

Granite State Called Safest in the US

According to CQ Press in Washington DC (an outfit that bases its rankings on FBI uniform crime reports) New Hampshire had the lowest murder rate in the country and won the 2008 "Safest State Award"

New Hampshire came up from fourth place. All in all new England took over many of the top spots. Vermont was second and Maine was fourth.

The statistics calculated were those of murder, rape, aggravated assault, burglary, robbery and motor vehicle theft. They are calculated against National averages.

Our Attorney General, Kelly Ayotte, thinks that New Hampshire has done well is because of the co-operation between law enforcement agency's at all levels. She feels that that cooperation has contributed significantly to our ability to deter and solve crimes.

                              CONGRATULATIONS NEW HAMPSHIRE mcGruff

In all the doom and gloom being reported these days, what a refreshing article to find!  Congrats on your ranking... it's a distinction to be very proud of.

It's that "Live Free or Die" thing!  I've always been a big fan of that motto!  Congrats to NH!  You keep tempting me to move!

This is a great!  Of course, with our aging population in New Hampshire and so many young people leaving the state, this makes sense.  Everyone is in bed by 9:00 p.m. (lol)!
