Sunday Morning on CBS is one of my favorite programs. They always have a series
of interesting stories from around the US, people to see and places to go!
I hope to pass on a little of the same........
NEW HAMPSHIRE SUNDAY MORNING
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Exploring this wonderful State of New Hampshire is something my husband and I never tire of! There are so many diverse attractions and ever-changing landscapes...the possibilities are endless!
I must admit Winter in New Hampshire is not the best time for "On the Road" trips and the price of gas has put a damper on my sense of adventure.
But I had a showing this morning in Boscawen NH and decided to bring my camera along. We had another snow storm last night . One of those that with wet and sticky snow that clings like frosting to the trees. The way I was headed has some beautiful scenery and I was hoping for some nice shots!
When I got up at 7:30 AM I was surprised to see the Moon
as bright as could be in the Western Sky! I have seen the moon in the morning before but usually not as Late and not as Bright.
The sky to the East was starting to lighten ...promising a Sunny Day! I took a few more shots in the yard
knowing the sun would make it a short lived effect!
Out side of my back door my Feathered Friends were already
busy fueling up for the day
As I headed West from Concord NH towards Boscawen, the morning sky
was still Heavy with Storm Clouds
I Held My Breath as I neared the Merrimack River.....this was where I hoped to get some Calendar Worthy Shots!
MOTHER NATURE AT HER BEST
Todays trip may have been of short duration but as you can see it was full of diversity! As I settled down early this evening I took one last look out my dining room window ...
My own Private Calendar Shot!
Joan, Absolutly beautiful. Who needs Charles Kurault? Oh he's no longer with us... Well who needs that other guy.. Now please tell Elizabeth to keep any snow in western NC... We do not want it here on the coast. Only in calendars.
Happy New Year!
WoW, Joan ! What beautiful pictures and your dining room window looks absolutely heavenly !
Jo
Hi Joan! I love your snow! Around here we have only had that light fluffy powder so far. When the breeze blows it all lands in the bay! Right now we are down to mud and brown grass. Hopefully we will have some real snow by New Year.
Still coming up there 2nd week of June! Hope you're around so we can have a lunch!
Joan, Do not miss it a tiny weeney or any bit... had enough for one lifetime. Good memories of walking more than a mile in snow to grammar school ( uphill both ways) and walking over a mile to the skating rink at night with my girlfriends. Memories of being snowed in for days at O'hare, being snowed in at Laguardia, but then my scary car accident 4 years ago in a storm that turned me off toward snow forever! Did you read Martin's blog last week on a day in the snow... very cute!
Happy New Year!
Joan, Monika and I watched the full moon rise Christmas Eve out at Rye Beach. Trying to find it rise was fun as we missed the exact moment at 4:47 as we were a little to far south in North Hampton. We decided to drive a little further north towards New Castle and lo and behold there it was a HUGE ball off the horizon. Too bad our cameras don't have a better lens to draw in it's beauty. Someday we will.
Happy New Year and all the best for '08
Joan
The sun alone is enough to get me motivated.
Thanks Jay...same to you both!
The moon really was beautiful for a few days there! I had never seen it that bright that late in the morning before...it ws so strange!
Julie...I love that Cardinal! He first started coming to my feeder last year as an adolescent without head feathers! This year he came back with his wife-Mrs.Buddy(we call him Buddy) and two Buddy kids! It's so cool!
So glad you enjoyed the visuals!
Joan,
Cool bird feeder, but my favorite photo is the Calendar shot at the end. Your home must be lovely.
Mike in Tucson
