TIPS FOR MOVERS
I have been noticing those advertisements for Pod Moving. To the best of my knowledge it is relatively new to the New Hampshire area but I predict it will take us by storm!
A recent client of mine moved here from Colorado. On closing day he had no truck or evidence of furniture and I asked him when his belongings were coming. He said they were already here , in storage, in a Pod!
With the Pod moving system they bring a pod to your house or apartment and you fill it at your leisure. From what I understand you rent the Pod for one price no matter how long you have it! After the Pod is packed...they come pick it up. You can have it delivered to where you are moving or kept in their facility should your place not be ready. Then not only is it delivered to your door...you unpack at your leisure and then call to have it removed.
Now that alone is fantastic for the hundreds of people moving to a New Construction, if it's not finished....no problem, put your stuff in a Pod. It also works for Closing Dates that can't be co-ordinated or for people Staging A Home, needing to remove items...they only have to move them once!
~~ In my book this is one giant stress reliever!~~
I asked my Client how he liked it. He said the staff from the office people to the drivers...were very friendly and accommodating. He said it was a little more expensive....but definitely worth it!
Sounds good to me! Guess what? The Pods Are Coming!
(There's one in Nashua)

"I love what I do, and it shows in how I do it"

Joan - the PODS have been popular here for quite a while. They are a bit more costly, but when you consider the level of convenience it's definitely worth it. I'm sure you will be seeing a lot more of them as time goes by.
Around here many landlords use them when they do evictions. Also when there is an apartment fire or other disaster they are very popular.
PODS...they're all over South Florida...people that I have talked to about using them, love them.
Karen
good morning Joan,
I've never heard of Pods here in Ontario....they most likely are here in the bigger cities though. Interesting and very convenient concept.
Jo
"Inspiration"Sally...I'm glad someone else is just finding out about these! Whew!
I've seen PODs around here in Georgia for years.
It's so easy when they bring the storage unit to you! No truck to rent... You can take your time loading the unit. And then they take it away to store for you! How cool is that???
Hey Gary... I've noticed that happen with other blogs too. I'm gonna watch this post for an answer to your question (If there is one. haha)
Pods have been in Delaware for about 2 years and my clients love them!
Dwight...by the month! Thats good to know but not a bad thing that certainly allows for a leisurely unpack!
Rosario..I think the more metropolitan areas have had more exposure! Which would make sense!
Ruthemarie..I'm glad I'm not the only one in the dark. But, you apparently have them all around you!
Gary..The post got picked as a featured post so they put it up on the opening page for a while(I don't know how long!) that way it gets more exposure!(I'm definately not complaining)
Nancy..thanks for your comments. See my answer to Gary on why you are seeing the post again!
Hi Maggie..I'm glad they are finaly here in NH. Options are a good thing!
Frank...That makes god sense. You don't think a pod sitting there is a distraction?
Chris...it would seem that FLA is really ahead of the curve!
Sam..I definately agree! Thanks for your comments
Dianne...they would restrict even for tamporary use? Isn't that a little extreme?
Cindy...it definately sounds like a win win to me!
Patti...you urbanites are always the first to know!
PODS have been around for awhile down here, and seem to be very popular! Many of my clients have used them with great results!
Katie...ya know I'm starting to fel like I live in a pod!
Dena...I don't even know a pod person! Think they'll notice?
Kim..I would think if it's near by you could still access it?
Hi Joan - we've been seeing the Pods over in my area for 2-3 years now. I think they're a very clever solution to the moving needs that we encounter periodically in our business. What an easy, or so it appears, way to handle the packing and storing/moving!
Congrats on your feature!
Ann
Why not consider approaching the POD people to place your advertisement on the side of the box. What better way to endorse or get exposure about how you can move people then on the side of a POD while it sits in the driveway of someone that is moving.
Just a thought. Maybe not a very good one, but a thought just the same.
Pods have been here for a couple of years now. I have known people who remodel and have the POD parked outside their house to store stuff during construction even. I've been to the website looking at pricing, and it seems fair. You pay for the pickup and delivery, but the convience value outways it.
There is some kind of Realror discount available. Your client get a discount if they are referred to them by you. I believe I signed up for it on their web site (if memory serves me right).
Joan - we just closed one in Reno a few weeks ago where four pods were involved. The owner was so obsessive about the pods that it turned into a running joke. They made his move much easier, and the laughter from his pod jones was a lot of fun as well.
best
POD are awesome, I work with a company that is like PODS except they pack the unit for you and then move it to their storage facility and keep until you are ready to move.

A client of mine used the pods. When the pod was picked up hydrolic fluid leaked out and ruined the driveway. Big mess and no one wanted to take responsibility for the problem.
Awwww Laurie...Everyone seems really enthused about theses things! I wish I had stock!
Hi Jay..why didn't I know aboout these things? Believe it or not...I spotted one today!LOL
Ann..nice to see you! Thanks for the Congratulations and for stopping in!
Chip...Maybe it's a competitor. If this system is this great there have to be competitors out there!
Joan,
Podding seems to be catching on real big here, too. It seems to be a really convenient way to accomplish a move. At both ends it can be done without the usual rush-rush and will definitely keep family arguments to a minimum.
Lisa...It gives a whole new meaning to the term "Pod People"!LOL
James...I agree...I will sure tell my clients about them!
Hi Lysa...I hope you find that picture!! I'd love to see it! If there's a picture...you have it!
Dave...that is actually a great idea and i will check into it!
Bob and Carolin...I'm betting they catch on BIG here!
Jessica...Seems like they work with numerous scenarios!
Chad...That discount would be great I'll go back to the website and check it out!
Gary...Four?...where did they fit them all?
Phyllis..They pack!! Now that's the best of both worlds! (I bet it's more$$$$)
Hi Chuck!! It would seem they have overtaken the world!!
Laura...well I guess there had to be at least one bad eperience ou there ...or it wouldn't be real life! Do you know how it was resolved?
Esko..Good observation about the arguments. That's a good thing!
The Pod People have invaded our area...very innovative concept and great for staging homes.
Ginger
Hi Joan - We have a place in Brentwood that has these PoDs but I'm not sure if they have caught on yet. They seem to be a great idea.
Judy T
You know you have arrived when you have knock offs of your ideas. I am seeing all kinds of generic pods in our area.
Wow, who would have thought there would be so much enthusiam behind moving! Really though, we too have fallen in love with the whole pods moving idea. We didn't use PODS but instead Door to Door Moving and Storage and they were great! We will never go back to renting a truck or hauling everything back and forth to a self-storage unit ourselves. I wish I had thought of this idea...next time, maybe... :)
Thanks Joan it was an great article. I think the idea of self storage is better but you can opt for something different and which is cheaper and easier compare to their competitors it's MOVEABLE CUBICLE.
Thanks,
Moveable Cubicle,
