As reluctant as I am to say goodbye to Summer....the choice is not mine!
Hearing the August crickets is the warning...Winter is coming, Winter is coming!
The dread is tempered by anticipation. The anticipation of the Beauty of Fall.
This years peak was beautiful and the weather was perfect. My husband and I each grabbed a camera and went off for a day of "leaf peeping" and exploration.
No matter how many years we've repeated this ritual...It is a new and rewarding experience each time!

Excellent photos! I took a road trip this past weekend, but mine was to the south. The further south I went, the less color there was (but the more mountains). It was beautiful, and I will have to put all the photos together for others to enjoy!
Very nice photos, look like you had lots of fun and plenty of beautiful colors to look at.
Hi Joan, Beautiful Photos and the colors are wonderfully rich. Great captures Joan. While I have been away, I got some great colors in the upper regions of the Poconos and the Blue Ridge Mountains. I suppose I should post a few but I have several posts backed up that I need to get out first. The Fall photos will also look good and be appreciated right up to Thanksgiving and then it is full steam ahead for the holidays.
Hi Joni... the colors are gorgeous. I should have come up for a visit this month. Bad planning on my part!
Joan, I missed my autumn road trip this year, unfortunately. I used to take a couple days and drive through the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to take in the fall color. Lovely photo!
Joan, thanks for taking the time to do this. I'm stoked to see more of your local geography. We incredibly lucky to have nature, and I hope she is patient with us and all our shinanigans. We ought to get our gear together and take better care of her. Cheers, Jark.
Hi Joan -- lovely photos, and nicely presented! Glad you got away for a day to enjoy the beautiful fall.
Hello Joan. Leaf peeping? That sounds vaguely devious. I love the photos. This is a wonderful time of the year for that. Too bad it preceeds winter though.
I love the fall in NH. I wish it could last for about 3 months LOL.. and that winter lasts from Dec. 24 - Jan 15th.. and then we have spring... I guess I must be dreaming!
Hi Joni -- just stopping by to say hi, and hope you're enjoying this Thanksgiving weekend. Best to you,
Hi Lottie...I like the new picture! I had a wonderful holiday...hope you did too!
I will be posting an adieu tonight....have hung up the Realtor hat. I am on Facebook so stop in and visit!
