Today was Show and Tell at Keeler Family Realtors.
I have talked about my activities on Active Rain at our Staff Meetings and my Broker has had some misgivings,,,up till now his Blog Education has been stories about "My Space"
So, I sat down at one of the computers with everyone gathered around and took them on a tour of Active Rain! Most of them had no clue as to what Blogging is ...and this was an eye-opener. (I think they were thinking Message Boards)
I took them on a tour of My Blog and read a few posts...thank goodness there were comments! I made a few Brownie Points with the fact that one was about Keeler Family Realtors with all the accompanying bells and whistles...thanks to the Challenge by Sarah Cooper. My broker lit up like a Christmas Tree when he saw the "links". It couldn't have been better if I had planned it!
I then perused some of the other Blogs I had Subscribed to. Jeff Belonger had a particularly Business related one today and that REALLY impressed. I showed them the comments and all took particular notice of the astuteness and thoughtfulness they expressed.
Last on our journey was Localisim and how it works. I showed them the rankings and local content.
I offered an invitation to any who wanted to try it but emphasised that it had to be "worked" to make it worth the effort.
All in all it was an eye opener. The intelligence and knowledge evident on the site were impressive. I think they were impressed at the time and effort it takes to write on here and all (especially my Broker) walked away with a better understanding of what Blogging is!
Yup....I had to give a Lesson today. And today I am

Well....maybe I'll get scheduled for fewer "Floor" days??
My broker was intrigued though!
Joan... sorry late to the party. And I wanted to thank you for the mention. Just curious, which blog was it? thanks and thanks again.....
On another note... I have tried to get people involved.... most say, sounds great, They sign up and then run away... lol I think so many don't want to work harder and or try something new. I do have one guy in my office that I have mentioned this to. Actually, he asked me once, because he came across my Ar profile while searching the net... and then read a few of my blogs. He was very interested, so I didn't mind helping him with this and sharing some of my secrets.
Ethan..
I will be VERY surprised if any of them do. I've had a few people accept invitations but they haven't done anything with it...if they really understood what it could do for them! Oh well....
Hi Jeff! Nice to see you here!
It was the one on Purchase Price vs. Payment. All of them really had pre-conceptions of what this was all about so if nothing else...seeing it and the quality of the posts altered that!
Your content added an air of legitimacy!
Joan.... okay, I wasn't sure since there wasn't a link to that post. Thanks for compliment in regards to the blog and again for the mention.
